Exide Industries Invests ₹100 Crore in EV Battery Subsidiary
Exide Industries Limited shares climbed 0.78% to ₹399.40 following a ₹100 crore equity infusion into its wholly owned subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Limited. The battery manufacturer subscribed to 2.5 crore shares at a premium, bringing total investment in EESL to ₹3,802.23 crore.
Trading activity reflected cautious optimism, with the stock peaking at ₹399.80 before paring gains. Deliverable volume stood at 50.48% of the 15.06 lakh shares traded.
The capital injection fuels EESL's Bengaluru lithium-ion battery plant, targeting India's burgeoning electric vehicle market. The subsidiary reported ₹116.89 crore turnover but ₹209.12 crore losses in FY2025 as it scales production capacity.
